Great game, tons of fun September 6, 2010 Zzzack The Sorcerer's Stone was alright, but the Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban and the Goblet of fire are a blast! After completing the 4 parts there are extra levels and achievements to acquire. Took me over a week of a solid hour or more a day to complete 1-4, now I am getting 100% of the game complete. This game is definitely worth the money for the fun you get.
Fun but buggy August 29, 2010 Sturm Derang (Reston, VA) Playing on win 7 64 bit Home Premium. My kids love the game, huge beautiful environments, more exploring and puzzle solving and less combat than most of the other Lego games. It is very buggy though. We had a couple game stopping bugs so far, but if you're good with the google there is usually a solution out there. The chests with dementors inside always made the game crash, but playing it in co-op mode got us past it. On the dragons level the blue dragon would fall through the floor and you couldn't levitate the purple ring. Playing with all graphics options set to minimum/off got us past there. If you can tolerate solving the glitches, which show up differently for different people, than the game is a sure thing: Lego + Harry Potter = fun. The one other thing though - every other lego game has flying missions, and Lego Harry Potter doesn't let you play quidditch? For real? Sad but true.
Great fun, but there is a big problem... August 16, 2010 Cynthia D. Watson This game is very fun and I love it a lot, but it glitches all the time. I have Windows 7 and every time i reach a certain point in the game in year 3, it glitches at the same spot every single time. I have to shut down the computer and get the the same spot all over again but it still glitches there. It has done this about 6 times. So now, I have tried playing it on a different computer that does not use Windows 7 and it glitches in one spot in year 1 over and over. I am very disappointed in this game.
Window XP Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 August 11, 2010 Nicoma Park Buglady (Choctaw, OK USA) Windows XP:
Customer Support: Did not get answer to emails to the technical support sites listed in booklet with game. Called phone number which only cost me 35 cents. Was automated and no Harry Potter option. Used Batman option. Person helpfully told me how to check which "chip set" of game card I had. Mine was GE Force 5500 (could not get to first Wingardium Leviosa lesson. Characters weren't complete- only facial features and hair. Game would also freeze often.) Told me I needed at least GE Force 5800. Got 6200 and 1 GB more RAM. Fantastic changes! My other games play better too! Full people and far fewer glitches.
Have not seen "trophies" acknowledged but have been able to do everything else so far. I'm up to starting the 4th year. I love the game! The humor is cute!
Trying to figure out some of the puzzles is challenging as most gamer sites cover the other versions and not much PC info.
Lego This Game--It's Not Worth It August 6, 2010 LB (Hoboken, NJ) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
These hi-tech games are not meant for PC's. I got through level 1 okay, but I can't get past a certain place on level 2. I even exchanged the game for a new one, thinking it was simply a bad disk, but the new game has the same problem. This is a big glitch, and I basically threw away $30.
I'm sure it's much better on the other platforms, but if you plan on buying the PC version, don't bother.
