100% possible September 8, 2010 lunchbox Like what many of the other reviewers said, this game has glitches. It crashes, it restarts and sometimes it just freezes, forcing you to do a manual restart on the ps3. I have played all of the other Lego games (batman, Indiana Jones, and star wars) and this game by far lacks a certain quality control aspect that is disappointing. Yet if you can get through the glitches, you can finish the game. That was something I was worried about when I first read the reviews, but I was able to get the 100% trophy a few days ago, so it is possible to complete the whole game.
As for the fun aspect, it's meant more for the Harry Potter fans out there. If you're not someone who has either read the books or watched the moving and have some sort of passing interest in the world of Hogwarts and Harry Potter, this game is a pass.
Potter Rules! September 3, 2010 Jellyroll Morton (Bailey, CO USA) This is the best LEGO game so far! (Although I am looking forward to the LEGO Universe.) A lot of the annoying things about previous games (Most importantly, the 1 screen that both characters are limited to sharing) have been improved and the graphics are amazing! Indiana Jones 2 has these qualities but is not as much fun as the Potter game. There are scenes from the books that are not in the movies and vica-versa. The spells are extensive and effective. The characters are all inclusive (along with some unnecessary variations like characters in sweaters and nightgowns). All in all, it is just plain FUN!
I really don't know... September 2, 2010 Dustin Payne (Dayton Ohio) Being the nerd I am, and becoming disturbingly addicted to Lego Star Wars, I was really excited when Lego Harry Potter came out. At first, I thought it was really fun, going to classes, learning new spells, and then playing through a level. After doing this countless times, I realized that the game really wasn't going anywhere, and that every character was basically the same, asides from a few minor abilities. The great thing about Lego Star Wars was that most character were different in terms of their lightsaber moves or shooting abilities. In Lego Harry Potter, there is hardly any difference between playing as Dumbledore or Ron!
Honestly, I felt like this game was only about running around and destroying every object in a room, collecting the coins, and then repeat in the next room. Hardly any enemys, not a lot of motivation to free play, pain in A*S to actually find characters to buy, and more money than you ever need! I don't think I'll be buying Years 5-7.
Kids approved September 2, 2010 NataliaVermont This is a game perfect for younger kids who enjoy video games. They can't die and will have continues fun that is somewhat challlenging. My son can't put it down. A must buy for little potter fans:]
Great game August 31, 2010 Karen Joan Creveling-hughes (Washington State) My 2 sons are 10 years old and have had a lot of fun playing with it. They love Harry Potter and they love Legos. It is nice to have some video games that are okay for kids (versus rated T or M)
